Applying Blush Properly
Applying blush is most often the most difficult task when you do your
makeup for most girls. It has always been a worry if it looks natural
and if it is on the right place. Moreover, sometimes when you think that
you applied to much and you try to wipe it off, it makes your cheeks
redder, thus poses a bigger worry. Check out on the tips below to master
the art of making a blush.
- First and foremost, you need to find out where your natural
blush is. You may have tried the “apple of your cheek” trick or
“below your cheekbone” tips. But here is a more accurate technique.
Bend down and try to reach your toes for more than 30 seconds. Look
at the mirror under natural lighting. The area where your blood
rushed in is where you should apply your blush because it is where
your natural blush is.
- Now that you found out where you need to apply your blush.
Determine the blush tone that matches your skin complexion. Usually
for olive skin, pink or rosy blushes works best. For fairer
complexion, peach color or light pink looks nice. On the other hand,
if you have darker skin, brownish or merlot shade will blend well.
-
Analyze the type of blush that works well with your skin. You
can choose from loose powder blushes, cream blushes, liquid blushes
or pressed powder blushes. If you are unsure which one will work
best and you have ample time to try everything on, ought to buy a
pressed powder blush. It can be easily apply and easy to blend.
Blushes also have different finishes: you can choose between matte
blushes and blushes with a little glimmer. For younger women, a
blush with a tint of glimmer defines a more vibrant look; just make
sure that it is not too glittery.
- If you are using a pressed powder blush, brush the medium makeup
brush on the powder several times and blow off the excess powder.
Dab the blush on the area which you have predetermined on the first
step. Slowly and lightly brush it on that area back and forth until
you achieved your desired blush. Spread it a little to both sides to
blend.
- Using the larger brush spread the blush lightly around the
cheeks for a better blend and slightly towards the hairline. Try to
imitate the color of your cheeks when you are blushing naturally to
make sure that you are not overdoing it.
- Check yourself in the mirror under natural lighting. You may
also want to check your room mate, sister, friend or even your
boyfriend to make sure that you do not have too much blush. After
several tries on putting on blush, you will be able to get it right.
